Riverside Apartment

Marlow

This 1st floor apartment within a 1960s block of flats overlooking the river was in need of a total refurbishment. The theme of the interiors was to follow the Client’s love of all things nautical, with clever nods to the theme evident throughout the entire apartment. The walls were cladded with ship lacquered boarding and a teak floor was installed to create the feeling of the deck of a boat. Bespoke storage was built to house the Client’s media with quirky portholes added.

An eclectic mix of furniture and upholstery were selected to complement the theme, from an aged leather sofa scattered with nautical striped cushions to a quirky union jack print deck chair, rounded off with handmade Philip Watts door handles.

The kitchen was designed to reflect a galley kitchen with little design details, such as the handles on the cupboards, chequered board flooring and the teak worktops creating that authentic boat feeling.

The ship lacquered boarding and teak flooring continues through to the bedrooms which are complemented by the navy blue and white colour palette.

The bathrooms continue the ship feel, with rustic surface mounted lighting and a porthole shaped mirror.
