Apartment Within An Old Abingdon Gaol

Oxfordshire

We were asked to design the interior scheme for this luxury apartment built within the development of an old historic gaol, overlooking the river in Abingdon. The Client’s brief was to keep the space neutral and calm, somewhere for them to enjoy when visiting the uk. This was achieved by introducing soft sumptuous materials, cabinets made from ebonised wood, reflective glass for the surfaces of tables. For the colour palette we mixed tones of cream, caramel, bronze and added accents of aubergine, completed with just a whisper of eau de nil.

Within the hallway elegant furniture and wood flooring create a sophisticated ambience. The wood flooring continues through to the living room and bedrooms creating a harmonious flow and mood throughout.

In designing the interior of this property our aim was to create a warm but open feeling of space as you transition through the apartment. This in turn draws you through to the open views of the river outside, peaceful, tranquil and calming. Simple design with luxurious finishes. Considered accessories complete this turn key project, bringing the scheme together as a whole.

The master bedroom follows the same calming and chic colour scheme. A bespoke richly textured headboard is complimented by large oyster, shot silk cushions.

We opted to create a masculine theme for our clients teenage son. Colours of ebony, charcoal and grey were chosen to compliment the washed oak floor boards. In to this scheme we added antique furniture and a large, lead grey industrial style pendant.
