Living Coral: Brighten up your home

Vibrant, energetic, and uplifting Living Coral (also known as Pantone 16-1546) is the Pantone Color of the year for 2019. It’s a marked change from the dark hues of last year’s Ultraviolet and continues the trend for strong statement colours. Living Coral has been chosen for 2019 to bring us comfort and to inspire us to be more joyful.

This darker, orange-tone is an update of the millennial pink that’s been taking interiors by storm. There’s no need to be afraid of incorporating the look into your own interiors and you don’t need much of it to provide an injection of vivid colour.

If you’re not keen on painting it onto your walls, there are plenty of subtle ways to add the colour to your home. Use a selection of varying tones of coral-coloured accessories, such as soft terracotta to deep shades of peach and blush.

Pale walls balance the vibrant tone, creating a bold and visual statement. A coral accent throw casually set on the bed or on the sofa allows Living Coral to stand out and become the focal point of any room.

Pair it with other bold colours and whites for maximum impact. Make the coral pop by combining it with blues for a dynamic synergy. Coral is the perfect accent colour with blue as they sit opposite one another on the colour wheel. Pairing with a softer blue green is always a beautiful combination.
