Bathroom Design – The Anne Haimes Interiors difference

A well-designed bathroom can be an absolute sanctuary in your home, whether you want the understated luxury of a boutique hotel bathroom, a more minimalist bathroom with a huge walk-in shower or a classic bathroom design, this is the space you can design just for you.

It is also an area where you can have real fun. Using bathroom wall tiles to create an under the sea wonderland in your children’s bathroom or embracing your inner Marilyn Monroe with a statement bath for a vintage bathroom.

Selecting finishes, choosing tiles, mixing the right textures, and specifying the right lighting can be a daunting and time consuming process. Anne and her team can work with you to make these important decisions. Whether it’s traditional or contemporary, big or small the team place great emphasis on personal service and communication, to ensure the scheme is to your taste and to your budget.

At Anne Haimes interiors we pride ourselves in creating the perfect bathrooms to both suit your needs and fulfil your wants.

‘When planning your bathroom, focus on the elements that are important to you, whether it be your personal sanctuary after a long day, or a spacious and invigorating shower to get you going at the start of your day.’

How to design a walk-in shower?

You need to make sure the floor can be sealed so there is no water ingress. i.e. tanked to make it fully waterproof. It’s best to include a shower screen to ensure that other areas away from the shower don’t get splashed. The most successful walk in showers have ample space, making them feel luxurious.

How to design a master bathroom?

Firstly decide what is the most important thing to you, a bath, a shower or having a combo. Do you want to share a basin or have twin basins. Be realistic about the space you have available to you, and what are your priorities. You also need to check what type of hot water system you have and find a shower that will work with that. Giving consideration to storage is also important, often bathrooms that are considered as tricky, for example having eaves, is actually a great space to have built in storage.

How to design a small bathroom?

The first thing you need to think of is the shape of the overall space. For example if you had a area that had width but not so much depth, you can locate entrance door in the middle of the space, you then have a layout were you can maximise the space. You can then put the toilet on the one side of the door, the basin in front of you and the shower, or a bath with a shower over across the width on the other side of the door. Try to select wall mounted sanitary wear, keeping the floor clear creates a greater feel of space.

What is a Jack and Jill bathroom layout?

A Jack and Jill bathroom is a bathroom which has a central position between two bedrooms, making it accessible from each.

Can I have a chandelier or pendant in my bathroom?

When planning bathroom lighting you have to adhere to the strict lighting zone regulations. You are only able to fit chandeliers if they fit outside zone 3, which is 2.4 metres away from water sources.

What makes an Anne Haimes bathroom unique?

We give a lot of consideration to the practicalities as well as the aesthetics, resulting in a functional and beautiful bathroom.

Living in London I never thought I would have the space to a have a walk in shower and the roll top bath I dreamed of. However Annie and her team managed to come up with a clever design enabling me to have both without the bathroom feeling cramped. I couldn’t be happier with the result.
